September 11, 2002 8:40 a.m. Trinity Episcopal Church 501 S Cincinnati Ave Downtown Tulsa
Thanks to all who attended Tulsa's performance of Mozart's Requiem, part of the worldwide Rolling Requiem commemoration of those who perished on September 11, 2001.
The nave of Trinity Episcopal Church was filled beyond capacity with over 1,000 Tulsans who joined us in remembering those we lost last year with the profound words and music of the Requiem.
Coventry Chorale is grateful for the community's support, for the participation of singers from many other Tulsa choirs, and the able leadership of our five conductors: David Rollo (Coventry Chorale), Dr. Frank Ryan (University of Tulsa), Mr. Ronald Wheeler (Tulsa Youth Symphony), Mr. Steven Dyer (Holland Hall School), and Dr. Carol Crawford (Tulsa Opera). Thank you for helping make this event a fitting tribute.
Hostias et preces tibi, Domine, laudis offerimus: tu suscipe pro animabus illis, quarum hodie memoriam facimus: fac eas, Domine, de morte transire ad vitam. Quam olim Abrahae promisisti et semini ejus.
We offer Thee, O Lord a sacrifice of praise and prayers; do Thou receive them in behalf of those souls whom we commemorate this day: grant them, O Lord, to pass from death to life. which Thou didst promise of old to Abraham and to his posterity.
